Boyce College is launching a cross-country team next fall
Boyce College is expanding its athletic offerings this fall to include a cross country team. The addition of men’s and women’s cross country will be the school’s fourth athletic program and signals significant growth within Boyce College athletics.
“Implementing a cross country program represents the next step for Boyce Athletics,” said Dustin Bruce, Dean of Boyce College.
“With the growth of the sport in traditional high schools, small Christian schools and home school co-ops, cross country is a natural fit for our riding. Our current student-athletes make a significant contribution to our student experience and campus culture, and I look forward to welcoming a new team to Boyce’s athletics program.
The team will have spots for up to ten men and ten women and expects to begin competition this fall.
Last year was marked by major success for Boyce Athletics, with the basketball team placing in the top 10 in NCCAA Division II, and Boyce’s men’s soccer team entering the history by winning the school’s first regional championship. The addition of the cross country team is the next step in Boyce’s continued success in the classroom and on the field.
Boyce College athletic director Michael McCarty is excited about the new athletic offering Boyce students will use to spread the gospel.
“Boyce Athletics thanks administrators Dr. Mohler and Dr. Bruce for allowing us to add the men’s and women’s cross country team this fall,” McCarty said.
“The cross country team will provide our students with another exciting way to participate in intercollegiate sports at Boyce College. The Cross Country Team will continue its mission to use Boyce Athletics as a platform for ministry and advancing the kingdom of Christ in the lives of student-athletes and those we meet while running. I’m excited to see all of Boyce’s riders competing this fall.”
