Eagles strike early in emotional game against Urban Knights
IRVINE, Calif .– It was cold Saturday night at the Eagles’ field as CUI returned from Hawaii to face the Academy of Art University.
Alex perez found himself his fourth goal of the season with a shot from the right side of the box in the 4th minute, striking before the opponents had time to recover defensively. Vincente Flores wanted to add his name to Eagle’s growing list of scorers this season, capitalizing on an assist from Elie Amadin at the 15th minute of the first half. The green and gold were not made in the first forty-five minutes of regulation because Luc Ryan seized a chance which he recovered from an Amadin, creator of games.
The visiting Urban Knights netted a goal in the dying minute of the first half, reducing the deficit to 3-1 as the teams headed for the break.
It only took Ryan and Amadin five minutes to connect again, Ryan taking a second shot into the net for his third goal of the season, Amadin securing his third assist on the night. The visitors were able to score a penalty in the dying minutes of the match, giving them a second goal. However, the home team collected all three conference points as they saw their record improve to 3-1-1 in the PacWest game.
The Concordia men’s soccer team continues their season at La Mirada next Thursday when they face Biola in a 4 p.m. road game on October 28. Unfortunately no visiting spectators are allowed at Thursday’s game, all additional information can be found HERE.
