Temporary 10 Months Full time School Health County Contractual position with benefits
Normal daily working hours Monday to Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Please note that working days follow the school health nurse’s 10 month schedule)

Job description:

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of the Office of Health and Academic Support, this position performs the following functions. Follows MDH / MSDE guidelines on COVID 19 in schools. Reviews COVID test results in the State of Maryland CRISP / NEDSS results system and Individual Laboratory Portals (MAKOs) and links them to CLI cases reported by school nurses as needed. Report positive COVID results to school nurses, AACPS contact tracing, and DPM. Assists in liaising between school health staff, DPM contact tracing / epidemiology staff, AACPS staff, coaches / athletic directors and parents / guardians prior to the AACO contact tracing DOH will only be notified of confirmed positive COVID cases for all AACPS schools and schools sponsored events. Collaborates with AACPS Sports Department and AACPS Contact Tracing staff including evenings / weekends to determine probable cases / close contacts for coaches isolation / quarantine / student athletes participating in AACPS school sponsored events. Acts as a resource for school health personnel for determining close contacts for class cohorts, transport cohorts and extracurricular activity cohorts. Communicates with the school health directorate (principal, deputy principal, program managers, program supervisors) regarding positive COVID and CLI cases. Is available during school hours as well as evenings and weekends as needed. Documents and reports on consultation, isolation and quarantine data for school health statistics (SHS). Report cases involving entire classes, entire teams, or potential outbreaks in schools to the Deputy Director and Director of SHS for further collaboration and communication with DPM and AACPS. Participate in trainings and other learning opportunities to stay abreast of current MDH, MDSE and CDC directions for schools and athletics. Attend staff meetings virtually as scheduled.

Minimum skills:

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for registered nurses.
To live: One year of experience as a school health nurse (RN). Experience in contact tracing or COVID activities preferred.
Licence: Must have a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
