VILLANOVA, PA. – Head coach of softball at the University of Villanova Brigitte Verger announced today that Lacy Smith has joined the Wildcat coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

A three-time NFCA Scholar-Athlete Scholar, Smith graduated from Virginia in 2019 with a degree in Economics and Media Studies.

Villanova are coming off the most successful season in program history in 2021, where they finished with an overall record of 37-15 and a 15-2 score at the BIG EAST Conference. The Wildcats won their first-ever BIG EAST title and won an NCAA tournament bid for the first time in program history.
